Jenna Rae is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern and trained Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist. Growing up in Running Springs, a small mountain town in Southern California, Jenna Rae went on to obtain her master’s in social work from Columbia University.
On the weekends, Jenna Rae would visit her father who lived in Newport Beach, CA. This upbringing instilled a deep love for the ocean! At the age of 20, she moved to the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, and was introduced to the profound healing effects of yoga. For the past 14 years she has taught yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and sound therapy. Experiencing the significant benefits of these practices on her own mental health is what inspired her to become a therapist.
In Jenna Rae’s practice she incorporates the therapeutic techniques of Trauma Informed Care, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Gottman Couples Therapy, and the intuition gained from her own healing of childhood trauma. She believes that post traumatic growth is possible when given the right tools, resources, and compassionate understanding.
When Jenna Rae has free time, she is often creating music, capturing photographs, making jewelry, summiting a mountain, or catching waves. Her rescue pup Athena is always along for the adventure!
