Amy L’Heureux (La-roo) currently resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Raymond (Lt. Col. USMC), daughters Evelyn and Amelia, and German Shepherd, Jibber.
Hailing originally from Philadelphia, Amy received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and earned her Master’s in Education from University of Arizona.
Continuing her passion for helping others, Amy graduated from Wake Forest University in 2023 with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is EMDRIA-approved EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) trained, which she utilizes with individual clients struggling with trauma or emotional distress. EMDR therapy can aid in relieving distress, reformulating negative beliefs and thought patterns, and reducing physiological arousal.
Moving through the world as a military spouse, mother, and child of a divorced family herself, Amy utilizes both Person-centered and Gestalt theory to support her clients through their journey of healing and growth. Centered around empathy and understanding, Amy is passionate about walking through life’s transitions and transformations with her clients.
As a life-long learner, Amy continues to grow her knowledge in ways to best serve couples navigate difficulties in marriage and partnerhood as well as parenting and additional relationships.
In her free time, Amy can be found at a CrossFit Gym, coaching little league on a softball field or in the kitchen baking French macarons.
