Michele D. Della Costa, Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

Michele D. Della Costa is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, born and raised on the West Coast of Florida. After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family and Child Sciences, and a Certificate in Interdepartmental Developmental Disabilities from The Florida State University, she went on to complete a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.

While in her master’s program, she participated in an internship at Nova Southeastern’s Brief Therapy Institute, where she provided individual, couple, and family therapy in a team setting. In addition, Michele participated in a second internship providing therapy to individuals and high conflict divorcing couples. While there, she enjoyed empowering her individual clients, learned to teach co-parenting classes, and also became aware of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that children of high-conflict divorces can face.

After growing up in a family that experienced a high-conflict divorce, it became her passion to help couples navigate a healthy divorce, educate parents on the adverse effects of high-conflict divorces, and provide a listening ear and voice for children. Michele has training in Play Therapy and is a Cultural Consultant as well as a Certified Collaborative Divorce Neutral Facilitator. She has a love for children, a thirst for learning, and believes it is important to be culturally competent while working with all clients. She is excited to build her experience and knowledge by learning from and growing with her clients. Michele is looking forward to starting this new journey within private practice.
