Do you ever feel overwhelmed with emotions? Or find yourself escalating from 0 to 100 very quickly? Do you often find that once you’re down, it’s hard to pick yourself back up? Can one unwanted experience ruin your entire day?
While it is important to allow ourselves to feel a wide range of emotions, experiencing intense feelings throughout your day-to-day life can have an impact on your wellbeing when they start to feel out of control. It is crucial to learn emotional regulation skills so that you have control over your emotions instead of letting your emotions control you.
Our goal is to help people achieve emotional stability by learning to manage the feelings that come with life’s everyday circumstances. Emotions are natural, normal, helpful, and important, however, when we lack the skills to manage them, our emotions can make us feel out of control. We conduct a bi-weekly group that is aimed at increasing positive emotions, changing painful emotions (at times), and decreasing the vulnerability to painful emotions
Our newest adult support group is open to any person 18 years or older who struggles with emotional control. We will meet Wednesdays from 7 pm – 8 pm to discuss strategies and skills used to manage the intense emotions one may experience over the course of the day. Meetings will be held once a week from August 17 to September 21. You can choose to attend sporadically for $25 a week or enroll in the full 6-week commitment for $125.
